Objective:
The objective of the gourmet restaurant is to enhance its business growth and competitive edge by developing a comprehensive app.

Solution:
Our solution involves creating a seamless user experience that facilitates online ordering and reservation management. The new app provides customers with various options, including delivery, pick-up, ordering ahead and dine-in, and advanced reservation for future dates. Additionally, we have designed a loyalty program to increase brand awareness and encourage customer retention. Through this program, customers earn points for activities such as placing orders, adding images to the app, tagging or mentioning the restaurant on social media, and sharing their experiences through stories or hashtags.
User Research Summary:
I conducted interviews and created empathy maps to understand the users I’m designing for and their needs. Different users were picked through research that wanted to eat out using different methods.
This user group confirmed initial assumptions about the restaurant’s customers, but research also revealed other factors limiting users from ordering food. Other user problems included obligations, interests, or challenges that make it difficult to order or go to restaurants in-person.
Pain points:
1. Food sometimes takes way too long or the user have no idea where the food is in the process. Participants also share sometimes when restaurants use different carriers the food can be delay more than 30 minutes with absolutely no way to track.
2. Menus are not user friendly and only offer deliver or pick up. To make reservations participants have to call because the apps offer that option.
3. Platforms for ordering food are not equipped with assistive technologies.

Changes based on feedback
A new option was introduced to simplify the process of obtaining food based on the chosen method. Further improvements can be made to the checkout screen to eliminate the need to return to the cart screen. The checkout screen also enables you to modify the summary with real-time updates of the total. The menu item window smoothly slides up in a bottom sheet. Loyalty rewards can be stored for future use.
